Your InfraGard chapter has partnered with the World Affairs Council of Central Illinois (WACCI)  and the 404 Society to hold a lecture at the University of Illinois Springfield on cyber security with title “Demystifying Global Cybersecurity Threats”.  The event, to be held October 22nd at 7:30pm in Brookens Auditorium, will feature speaker Megan King.
Ms King will be discussing existing cyber threats and how concerned we should be about them.  She will also discuss the motivations and tactics of nation states, non-state actors and criminals in cyberspace. Finally she will also include what we can do to stop them.

Megan King

Meg King is Director of the Digital Futures Project and Strategic Advisor to the President and CEO. Previously, she worked for the U.S. Department of Defense Cooperative Threat Reduction Program.
From 2008-2011, she was senior legislative assistant to the Chair of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Intelligence, Information Sharing and Terrorism Risk Assessment. In this role, she introduced one of the first comprehensive cybersecurity legislative proposals in the House.
She began her career as a research assistant for the Homeland Security Project at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress.
Ms King is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of the South and received honorable recognition for her studies at St. John’s College, Oxford University.  She is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and the Women in International Security Network.
