Tour of NCSA Petascale Computing Complex and Guest Speaker on Security Challenges

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Blue Waters supercomputer provides sustained performance of 1 petaflop on a range of real-world science and engineering applications. It is one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world.  Blue Waters is composed of more than 237 Cray XE6 cabinets and 32 cabinets of the Cray XK7 supercomputer with NVIDIA® Tesla® Kepler™ GPU computing capability.

Parking will be across the street from the NCSA facility at the Atkins Building (1800 S Oak Street).

Refreshments and meeting with our guest speaker will be in the Enterprise Works (1 block South at Hazelwood & Oak).

Please arrive NO LATER THAN 1:00 PM.
Tour will start at 1:30 PM

Meeting speaker will be at 2:45 PM and we expect to be done by 4:00 PM.
Meeting room will be available until 4:30 PM for networking and discussions.

It normally takes about 90 minutes to drive from Springfield to the University.

Directions to Atkins Building in the University of Illinois Research Park at 1800 S Oak Street, Champaign, IL

From Springfield, take I-72 East to Champaign. This turns into University Ave, stay on University until you reach Neil Street.

Turn Right on Neil Street and continue south to St Mary’s Road / Fox Drive and Turn LEFT (east).

At first stop sign (Oak) turn RIGHT, then make first LEFT into parking lot for 1800 S Oak (Atkins Bldg).

Someone will be there to give you a parking pass for your car and direct you to parking spaces for the event.
